Abandoned Truth | Edmonton Boudoir Photography

Have you ever realized you were not being yourself? In the middle of a lunch with some new friends you say something, and think, “Good God did that come out of my mouth?!” Have you ever abandoned your truth or something you are passionate about just to impress someone?

I have never done that.

Okay I have, but luckily I have grown and chalked it up to immaturity and shitty self esteem.

Nowadays you will find me editing some boss ass babes, jamming to Led Zeppelin, the Arkells, Beyonce or *gasp* country music. Shhhh, don't tell anyone.

I know, your mind is blown right? Or maybe you are pleasantly surprised.

Anyway, I digress…

There is a song out now called "Miss Me More" by Kelsea Ballerini

If you haven't heard it, check it out here:

The song is about this girl who lost herself in a relationship and she thought she’d miss her ex but as it turns out, she was really just missing herself. She gave up red lipstick and high heels because he didn't like it. She gave up her friends and independence all for him.

When is the last time you abandoned your truth for someone else? Are you doing it right now?

Life tip: That loneliness you feel when surrounded by people is a key indication that you have abandoned your truth. If you are unable to be truly authentic with the people closest to you, get them the fuck out of your life. Maybe you need time to (re)discover yourself, and that's fine. Just do so surrounded by those who have your back, the ones who will love you through it all.

Sometimes we need a little push.

Boudoir photography is a tool, a stepping stone for you to use on your journey towards self acceptance. It is about embracing yourself and being comfortable with who you are. It is about welcoming your truth back into your life. You should be your own biggest fan and if you aren't, book a session with me. I'll be able to show you that you should be.
