Miss A Client Interview | I have to apologize... | Edmonton Boudoir

This babe sent me the most precious client interview and email that I am posting the whole thing! I can't not! She is truly a gem and it was my honour to photograph her and give her this amazing experience.

Thank you so so much for the beautiful photos and amazing experience. I have to apologize to both you and myself. I was honestly so critical of myself with no reason. The photos are stunning and I am beautiful. I honestly haven’t stopped going through them for days. I’m completely in love! So thank you, for making this process so rewarding and so comfortable. I think the confidence and body positive conversation you push so hard is so appreciated by women I honestly will do another shoot in the future without a doubt!

How old are you?

25

Describe yourself in one word.

Caring

How do you pay the bills?

Health and Safety Coordinator

What do you do for joy?

Time spent with family and friends is everything to me, especially my new husband and our fur babies. I enjoy camping, the lake, 4x4'ing, and the game of softball.

What was your biggest fear about your session?

My biggest fear going into the session was overcoming my own insecurities. I've always struggled with body positivity and self image. It was tough for me to open up and feel comfortable (at first). It's scary to show your insecurities to anybody, especially a camera. It captures everything about yourself that you both love and hate. Countless times I've not posted a photo of myself or have removed it from my timeline because I felt imperfect. I was fearful that this session or the reveal would make me feel the same way.

What was your favorite part of the experience?

The HUGE boost of self confidence!! I have never looked at myself in the way the images captured me. From innocence, to sensual, to raw and beautiful. I really opened up to myself and caught my own attention. I felt extremely comfortable once we got going. Your motivational words and your love for your job really made it easy to let loose and have fun (even if I was awkward in the beginning).

Why did you choose me?

I started following you on Facebook over a year and a bit ago when I saw an ad. I fell in love with your photography, the concept of boudoir, and the women in them. Both the women and the photos we're all stunning!! I saw women of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and styles. It wasn't a boudoir page of size 0's and blondes. It really made me feel like boudoir is for ALL women and is empowering for all. Your captions, your images, something about your art stood out to me, so I decided to take the plunge.

What is your advice for women interested in such a session?

DO IT!!! I can not express enough how fulfilling this was, in a way I didn't think possible. It is beyond rewarding. I did the photo shoot for my (at the time) fiancé, and it ended up really being more for myself., which I didn't realize until the reveal. I think I enjoy the photos and got more from them then he ever will, because I had the experience to go along with it. 10/10 would recommend to anyone thinking of doing a session. It truly is a worth while experience.

Did you get a new perspective on any body part from your shoot?

HUGE change in perspective. Even up until the reveal, I was critical of myself. Katie, I really took your words to heart. Your images captured all the great sides of both my body and my person. From awkward lips to confident smiles. Like you said, no one looks at a photo and critics it the way we judge ourselves, and I do no good to my self esteem or soul if I do the same. I truly saw myself as a whole confident woman in those photos. The way I talked to myself sincerely changed after the shoot, and I couldn't be happier.

What does success mean to you?

Success to me is the feeling of utter balance. Feeling healthy and happy. Whether it's financially successful, being able to pay the bills and afford what's important to you. Or success in relationships, maintaining good friendships and family ties. I strive for balance in my life, between work and play, and everything in between. Success to me is constantly striving to maintain MY balance.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

The establishment of my career. As a young female student, in a male driven industry I was able sell my skill and work ethic enough that they created a part time position for me during school, and drove them to give me full employment after graduation. I've over come lots of challenges in the industry and continue to work hard to keep female presence in management positions.

Is there anything else I could do to make this experience absolutely perfect?

No, you did amazing. Honestly, the motivation and encouragement during the session really made the shoot so much easier. Your push for women's self image and self worth is inspiring. From hair, to the shoot, to the reveal. The process was nothing but fun (after the nerves are over).

Thanks again for the wonderful shoot and of course the beautiful images. I can not wait to get my album in and see it all together. I really do look forward to coming back for another shoot in the future.
