Happy International Women's Day! Today always brings a little shiver to my spine and a little tear in my eye. I am so incredible proud to be a woman, and extra proud that I call Canada home. We are not perfect, but we are damn close. Unfortunately the majority of women in the world can not say the same. We must work hard towards equality for all! If even one of our sisters is left behind, we have failed in our mission. Join me in little prayer to women on International Women’s Day.
I pray that you support one another.
I pray that you see yourself as strong and resilient.
I pray that you seek empowerment.
I pray that you work towards equality.
I pray that you encourage your daughter to read.
I pray that you encourage your daughter to question authority.
I pray that you encourage your daughter to see past magazine covers.
I pray that you teach your daughter the difference between real and fake.
I pray that you teach your daughter ambition and moxie.
I pray that you seek to end female circumcision.
I pray that you seek to end to rape as a tool for war.
I pray that you seek to end rape as a tool of control, period.
I pray that you always give your sister the benefit of the doubt.
I pray that you seek an end to human trafficking.
I pray that you seek to empower all women economically.
I pray that you support your sister CEO as much as your sister SAHM.
I pray that you seek fulfillment in whatever makes you happy.
I pray that you define womanhood on your own terms.
I pray that you love yourself first.
Can I get an AMEN!?
