Let them call you a witch | Edmonton Boudoir Photography

If you’ve been watching the news lately, it’s hard to ignore the unsettling feeling that we are stepping backward. But this relentless urge to control women isn't new.

It wasn't "witches" who were burned at the stake, it was women.

Women who didn’t fit the mold.

To be wild, sovereign, and unapologetic was to be dangerous. To be alone, was deadly.

Centuries later, the battlefield hasn't really changed, only the arena has.

But here’s what else hasn’t changed: the antidote. Women who stand together are harder to silence.

They called it a coven, and they feared it, because it was a threat.

Every time we show up for each other, whether we’re cheering from the sidelines, handing over the mic, or simply saying “me too, I see you,” we make it a little harder for them to win.

To every woman currently feeling the heavy weight of the world pressing down on her: you are not alone, and you never were.

If standing tall, taking up space, and claiming agency makes people uncomfortable, let them call you a witch.

You’re in exceptional company.
