Q: Do I have to get my hair and makeup done? What if I get my friend to do it and you discount me the session fee…

I include hair and makeup in all of my boudoir packages for a few reasons. Reason #1: it looks better Reason #2: it makes my editing faster which saves me time (and thereby you money). Did you know that you lose about 30/40% of your makeup pigmentation in camera? Now you do. Reason #3: it is part of the experience Reason #4: you will love it. So yes, it is included and no I will not discount you the fee so your friend can do it.

Q: How far in advance should I book?

Some seasons are busier than others but I would say generally in order to get your products by your due date, at least 6 weeks in advance. Exceptions apply of course, just ask me and I can give you a better ETA.

Q: What is a session fee?

Your session fee is the initial investment of your photographs. It includes my time taking your photos, my hair and makeup artist’s time, and my hair and makeup artist’s fee, and general business expenses. The session fee is a small initial amount that does not include any images. You purchase your images when you come in for your reveal session (the first time you see all of your photos edited and retouched). At your reveal session, you purchase your images.

Q: I love your work but I can’t afford it all at once, do you offer payment plans?

I offer payment plans for everything but the session fee. Your session fee is due upon booking. If you would like a payment plan for your image collections and a la carte items, let me know and I can set you up (no interest)!

Q: What if I am unsexy/boyish/curvy/[insert self-criticism here]?

I am sorry, what are you asking? Do you think you are not capable of producing stunning photos? If that is the case, you are dead wrong. I photograph women, all shapes and all sizes. I am a pro and it is my job to make you look your best. I work with you to maximize your best features and camouflage your insecurities. The key here is communication and trust. For the record, I have never had anyone unhappy with their photos. I like to tell my clients, “If you don’t look good, I don’t look good and I wanna look good!”

Q: Why do you include prints with your packages? Why not digital-only?

The biggest reason for me is that 99% of my clients want a product of some sort, be it albums or canvases or metal prints. The second biggest reason for me is quality control. When I give my clients the digital images without the prints, they are likely to have them printed at Walmart (because they just don’t know any better). As an artist, that is painful to witness. For photographers, getting your photographs printed at Walmart is equivalent to Da Vinci using crayons for the Mona Lisa. The loss of quality not only looks bad on your walls, but it reflects poorly to my business because people seeing those photos think that they are supposed to look that way! All of my photos are printed at a high end facility that specializes in quality prints so I know that when I receive your images they are supposed to look that exact way. There will be no colour discrepancies between my monitor and your images, which is not the case if they are printed at a low-quality facility.

I get that we live in the 21st Century and 99.9% of my clients want to share their images with their friends and family online which is fine so I include the digital image of every photo you purchase.

I also think that people get so wrapped up in sharing their photos with others that they forget to have them printed and hung in their home. They put it on the to-do list and it just never happens. Then years go by and you do more photos and the same cycle repeats itself. By providing you with prints, it takes one more thing off of your to-do list.

Q: Do I have to go nude?

Uh, hells no. You only do what you are comfortable with. End of story.

Q: What if I don’t want my images online?

Then you won’t ever see them online from me. I promise you that. I edit all of my sessions in-house which means no one other than myself will ever see them while editing. My client’s comfort and privacy are my top priorities. I never want a client to feel threatened or abused. I can’t emphasize this enough. With that said, I would love to show off your images, I am artist after all. But I also fully understand your need for discretion.

Q: What if I want something a little more… risqué? Are you comfortable with that?

Girl, trust me when I say that I have seen it all. Not kidding. I have tied mouth gags, cinched corsets, and zipped up leather. I have photographed nudes, whips and chains, s/D. Everything! You will not shock me. However, I do not photograph pornography, boudoir is sensuality and suggestion which is entirely different from pornography.

Q: Will you get rid of my cellulite/acne/[insert insecurity here]?

Yes. I edit out non-permanent things like acne or rosacea. I do not edit out tattoos (unless specifically requested). I also will not edit your figure so you look like Heidi Klum because you are simply not Heidi Klum (but hey, if you are, gimme a call! :P). I am a pro and I am good at job so I will pose you and direct you in order to maximize the best of your figure and eliminate any insecurities. Trust me. My lighting and posing will automatically eliminate your cellulite but, with that said, my editing includes a gentle skin smoother so you won’t see it anyways.

Q: What should I wear/bring?

Once I have you booked in, I will send you my super awesome STYLE GUIDE! I spent a lot of time creating this baby and it is chalk full of information. I tell my clients to always bring more not less as I will know best what will photograph well. Often, women will bring outfits in that look great in person but not great on camera but you won’t know that! So read the style guide for ideas but rest assured that I will go through everything and come up with your best looks. Most women show up with a suitcase, not kidding!

Q: Do you photograph couple’s boudoir?

Yes and I love it!

Q: Can I bring a friend?

You can bring a friend to hang out with while getting your hair and makeup done. Said friend, however, will not be permitted into the studio area (yes, this includes your spouse). You might think you would be more comfortable with someone there but trust me, you won’t. You and I will work way better if it is just the two of us. It can seem scary at first but after getting to know me prior to your session, I will make you feel so comfortable and by the end of it, I will feel like your BFF (and I mean, really, has your BFF ever made you look as good as I will? No.).

Q: I can’t find a babysitter, can I bring my kid(s)?

No.

Q: How old do I have to be?

Minimum of 18 (I do not photograph minors) and maximum of 200 (no vampires please). I have photographed women of all ages so rest assured that you will look amazing!

Q: Do you photograph trans-women?

Do you consider yourself a woman? If so, then yes. I do not discriminate or judge. It is hard to get to know someone via the FAQ section of their website but believe me when I tell you that 99.999% of people who know me say that I am really easygoing and non-judgmental. I am a proud ally of the entire LGBTQA+ community.

Q: Do you photograph men?

Yuppers.
